Another factor that contributes to the success of horse riding in Portugal is its land area. The topography of the plains in the country is a big factor on why and how they can breed topnotch horses. The country is actually known for breeding Garrano and Sorraia horse breeds, two of the best endemic breeds in Portugal. And as mentioned before, there are a lot of equestrian centers to train the riders.

Because of the deep roots of equestrian Portugal, it's not difficult for people to get interested with the sport and with the country itself.
